Use your own account, accurate name and current institution evidence. Do not buy verification documents or share an education account. Save the approval date, benefit page and renewal date. Keep independent copies of projects because access can end after graduation, a failed reverification or a programme change. JetBrains explicitly states that free educational licences may be used only for non-commercial educational purposes. They are not suitable for paid freelance or employer work. Figma for Education

Applicants follow Figma's current verification flow and may need an institution identity or other evidence. School-managed environments can have different administrators, sharing controls and regional onboarding routes, so confirm who owns files before creating a long-lived portfolio.
Education access is conditional rather than permanent. Export important design assets and document libraries before leaving an institution. Do not assume classroom access authorises agency or freelance production. Review Figma's current plan, education and professional terms for commercial work, client confidentiality, plugins and shared libraries. A client project should live in an account and team whose ownership and billing survive graduation.
Regional and account limitations
Institution recognition, email domains, age rules, identity checks, taxes and individual partner availability can vary by country. Some benefits require a payment method, exclude previous customers or expire after a fixed redemption period. Never use a VPN or false address to bypass an offer boundary. If the official form does not support your institution, use its documented appeal or support route rather than submitting altered evidence.
How to verify an offer safely
Start on the provider's own education or help domain and follow its application link. Check the page title, account domain and sign-in destination before entering documents. Read the eligibility page, product-specific terms and privacy notice together: the marketing page may describe the benefit without explaining document retention, renewal or licence scope. Pick the offer whose licence matches the task, establish an export routine and record its renewal date. If paid work is likely, choose a migration path before the first client file is created.
