ChatGPT
OpenAI’s current plan page describes the free version as available to everyone and includes web search, with limited access to capabilities such as file uploads, data analysis, image generation and deep research. That breadth makes ChatGPT a useful default for someone whose tasks change during the day. The limitation is predictability: the exact model and allowance available to a free user can change, so do not build a deadline-critical workflow around an assumed number of messages.
Claude
